About a year after 10 Arrows, Alexander Florensky was asked to design another record — this time, a 7-inch EP with songs from the album.

“BG called and asked, ‘There’s going to be this sort of ‘single’ with four songs, Thirst — could you draw something?’ I remember sitting there, not having a clue what to draw. Some songs were kinda vague, and then a painter friend of mine — a very close friend who often visited my studio — came over. He asked, “What’s up?” I said, “I’m just sitting here, not sure what to draw. They asked me, and I can’t think of anything. Then he suddenly said, “Draw a fish over the city.” I said, “That’s a good idea.” He said, “I’ll draw one too, and then we’ll give them both and let them choose whose they like better.”

He started cutting out the city and the fish from colored paper, and I painted mine in gouache. We submitted both versions. They picked mine and even paid for it. It was a small amount, but it still made a difference.”

The original cover artwork for Thirst, like a lot of works at the time, was given to the printer and never returned.
